2021 PRE-TRYOUT CAMPS

 

HSC Hockey School will be offering half day and evening/weekend Pre-Tryout Camps this year. We will also be running Pre-Tryout Camps with Body Contact.

Designed specifically to work on the skills that Coaches look for at tryouts, these camps are a real leg up on the competition! Concentrated sessions will hone all your player's skills so they will show their best when it counts:

 

  • High Tempo Drills - Edgework, Explosive Starts, Puck Protection, Advanced Dekes, Shooting, Battle Drills
  • Conditioning
  • Small Area Games
  • Controlled Full Ice Scrimmages
  • Dryland (half day camps only) - Balance, Flexibility, Core Strength, Leg Strength, Quick Feet, Stick Handling

HALF DAY CAMPS

Week 1: August 23rd-27th
Week 2: August 30th - September 3rd

Location: Sherwood Community Centre in Milton
Cost per Player: $500 plus HST per week

U9 (2013) / U10 (2012) / U11 (2011 A/AE) Players

Group A Schedule:
8:30-10:30 am - On Ice Development (2 hours)
10:30-10:45 am - Snack (parent provided)
10:45-11:45 am - Dryland Training
12:00 pm - Pick up

Group B Schedule:
9:00-10:00 am - Dryland Training
10:00-10:30 am - Snack (parent provided) / Get Dressed
10:30-12:30 pm - On-Ice Development (2 hours)
12:30 pm - Pick up

U11 (2011 AAA/AA) / U12 (2010) Players

12:30-2:30 pm - On Ice Development (2 hours)
2:30-2:45 pm - Snack (parent provided)
2:45-3:45 pm - Dryland Training
4:00 pm - Pick up

Group D Schedule:
1:00-2:00 pm - Dryland Training
2:00-2:30 pm - Snack (parent provided) / Get Dressed
2:30-4:30 pm - On-Ice Development (2 hours)

PRE-TRYOUT CAMP WITH BODY CONTACT - U14 (2008) / U15 (2007)

Players need to develop skills to separate opponents from the puck to gain an advantage. In addition, players need to be prepared to prevent injury. During this extensive 8 hour camp, we will teach safe, smart hockey to minimize the risk of injury and maximize the chance of gaining puck possession.

PRE-TRYOUT CAMP WITH ADVANCED BODY CONTACT - U16 (2006)

This high tempo camp is designed to bring your player to the next level. Players will review all basic hitting techniques and then apply them in fast paced game situational drills.

The health and safety of our participants is our number one priority. All facility protocols will be strictly adhered to. All lead instructors are professional educators with extensive Covid-19 protocol experience. All HSC instructors have been fully vaccinated.
